How does Reviewbah determine its search results?
We try to show the most useful and relevant results in response to consumer searches. Users can sort their search results in different ways, and Reviewbah has several filters that users can apply to further narrow their search results.
Sorting options on Reviewbah include:
- “Latest”: This sort option reorders results by showing the latest businesses added to Reviewbah that are relevant to the query.
- “Rating”: This sort option reorders results by giving more weight to the overall rating of businesses that are relevant to the query.
- “Most Reviewed”: This sort option reorders results by giving more weight to the overall number of reviews of businesses that are relevant to the query.
- “Nearest”: This sort option, available on Reviewbah mobile apps, reorders results by giving more weight to the distance between you and businesses that are relevant to the query.
What’s the best way to search for something on Reviewbah?
You can find almost any type of local business on Reviewbah. Use the search bar near the top of your screen to search for specific business. Use the location bar to set the geographic region you want to search (e.g., city, or your current location).
You’ll see some suggested filtering options above your results, which allow you to fine-tune your search results based on factors like price, rating, and opening hours. You can see additional filtering options by tapping the Filter icon in the search bar (Android/iPhone). You can also use filters to sort your results in different ways.
Why do businesses that are permanently closed sometimes still appear in Reviewbah search results?
When a business is marked closed on Reviewbah, it is featured less prominently in our search results for a time before eventually being removed entirely from search results. A closed business page will still appear in targeted searches for longer than that, even though it may have already dropped out of general searches. Keep in mind that closed business pages can be useful because they inform users who may want to visit the business about the closure, and may also link to a business’s new location.
Please note that we don’t delete business pages, so even if they don’t appear in search results, they are still accessible via user profiles of the people who reviewed the business, and from direct links from elsewhere on the web.
If a business has closed, moved or has undergone any other substantial business changes, please report these changes, so we can take appropriate action.
Why isn’t the business page I added appearing when I search for it?
When you add a business to Reviewbah, it has to be evaluated by our moderators before it appears in search results. If you added a business recently but you can’t find it in search, it’s likely that it still has to be evaluated – please don’t submit the same business multiple times.
This process may take a while depending on our ability to independently verify any submissions, and we will sometimes reject a submission if we’re unable to independently confirm the business or if the business isn’t eligible for Reviewbah.
